Introduction

It All Begins Here

Hello, let me introduce myself. I am a local CPA with 25 years of experience preparing taxes. I LOVE my job!! I have spent my entire career in Monroe County. This year, I have decided to do things a little differently by sharing information through a blog format on my website and Facebook page.

I prepare taxes for individuals, businesses, partnerships, corporations, and non-profit organizations. All returns are filed electronically, with various options for refunds or payments available. This year, I will be offering new client portal services. This will allow clients to upload documents, have access to their return when needed, and to E-sign documents.

As tax season approaches and you start to receive your tax documents, please feel free to reach out to us with any questions you may have. Please call the office or send an email. We would be happy to be of service to you.

Tax Season Kickoff!

It All Begins Here

Tax season officially kicks off on January 26th!! I am excited to welcome year 26 with my amazing clients. I’ll thank you all now, because I may be too tired to do so on April 15th!

I truly have the best clients. Many of you have been with me from the very beginning. You’ve watched my kids grow up, understood the days I needed to leave early to watch a ball game or be home with a sick child, and you supported me through the loss of my dad. I have loved being part of your lives over the years, and I look forward to continuing to help you with your tax and accounting needs for many more years to come.

I’m excited to see you and catch up with you during tax season this year!

We have a lot of new information this year—there is much to unfold and unpack. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) includes several provisions that may impact some of you. As always, it’s not quite as simple as the news makes it sound—there’s always fine print. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Individual Items Include:

• No tax on tips

• Deductions for seniors (what they are calling no tax on Social Security)

• No tax on overtime

• No tax on car loan interest

• Home Energy Credit expiration

• Clean Vehicle Credit expiration

No Two People Are The Same

It All Begins Here

As tax season begins, I want to remind everyone of something important: no two people are the same — and neither are tax returns.

It’s easy to assume that because your co-worker, friend, or even your brother works at the same place, has a spouse, and two kids just like you, that your refunds should be the same. That’s simply not true.

Here’s why:

• W-4 forms may be filled out differently

• A spouse may have additional income you don’t know about

• A child turning 17 can significantly impact a return

• And the list goes on and on

Finance is very personal. People rarely share all the details, so comparing your tax situation to others can be misleading and frustrating.

If you have questions or concerns about your return, the best thing you can do is contact a licensed tax preparer who can look at your specific situation.

Visit my website to learn more about my background and the additional services I provide.

Be sure to follow my Facebook page and website for updates and helpful tax information throughout the season.

Tax Season Check- In!

It All Begins Here

Tax Season Check-In from Your Busy CPA

Tax season is in FULL swing and whew… we are BUSY over here! I wanted to hop on and share a few quick (and important!) reminders with you all:

Direct Deposit = Faster Refunds!
The IRS is strongly recommending direct deposit for refunds. If you’re still getting a paper check, now’s the time to switch! Paper checks are experiencing delays, and just like Social Security and military retirement payments, the IRS prefers direct deposit. It’s faster, safer, and gets your money to you quicker. Win-win!

Small Business Owners – Keep. Every. Receipt.
More is better! If you spent money related to your business in any way, keep the receipt. If it’s not deductible, I’ll let you know — but you can’t deduct what you don’t track!
Need help organizing receipts or tracking mileage? That’s what I’m here for!

Questions? Ask Away!
Whether it’s about your tax return, your small business, or your refund — no question is too small or too big. Seriously. Reach out. I love helping my clients feel confident and informed.

For more information about me and the additional services I offer, visit my website. And keep watching this page for updates, tips, and reminders throughout tax season!
